Breaking Lease Agreement

Can a tenant get out of a lease early, if there have been verbal promises made and not kept. Also if the same maintenance problem re-occurs?

Re: Breaking Lease Agreement

Although rare, if maintenance issues rise to the level of what the law considers a "constructive eviction" then, yes, the tenant could terminate the lease early. However, without more facts it is impossible to advise you regarding your particular circumstances. The lease might also provide terms for early termination of a lease. If you received any verbal promises, I would get them in writing. Good luck with your situation.
