My condolences on teh passing of yrou wife.

The long version anser to your dilemna is to open a probate estate for your wife. The bank account will be part of the estate, and can be transferred accordingly. You might try some simpler avenues first. Contact the bank and tell them about the situation. Have them check the Signature card, to see if you or someone else was named as a post death transferee. If not, the bank may just have you submit a copy of your marriage license and the death certificate or obituary.

Good luck
