LP Gas company

The Lp gas company that I get the

gas from to heat my home has sent

me a bill for $200.00 for not buying

gas My tank is not empty so there is

no need for me to buy some they

told me to either buy gas and they

would not charge the $200 or buying

the tank myself or get another

supplier now is what they are doing

It is not possible to give you a clear legal answer to your inquiry without a more detailed evaluation of the facts of your case. Several questions are presented:

1. Did you sign a written contract with the LP gas company? A written contract will state your rights and obligations, and, in the event of a disagreement, should be reviewed by a lawyer, who can advise you of your rights.

2. Does the storage tank belong to the LP gas company? Many gas companies provide a storage tank free or at nominal rental cost to customers, with an agreement that the customer will purchase gas from them exclusively. Sometimes the gas companies will require a minimum yearly purchase for use of this storage tank.

Make sure you read and understand the terms of any written agreement you sign.
