Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

legal guardian of disable brother

My brother pawned a item and when I picked it up I told the pawn shop people that they were not to do anymore business with him because I was his legal guardian. They let him pawn again after I gave them a copy of the guardian papers . What can I do to get his stuff back or stop them from letting him pawn again?

If the stuff is not worth a lot of money, you could attempt to go the small claims court route and argue that the pawnshop was entering into verbal contracts with a person not legally competent to contract. If it involves larger dollar items, you should seek an attorney to see about taking action agains the pawn shop. They may be able to get a cease and desist order. Part of this would depend on how egregious the pawn shop's behavior is.
