Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

Petitioning for court ordered visitation

My friends, ex girlfriend will not let him see the baby even though he pays child support and carries insurance on her. How does he go about getting court ordered visitation without having to hire a lawyer?

Re: Petitioning for court ordered visitation

As with any other legal matter, your friend can proceed without an attorney if he chooses to do so. He may file a motion for visitation in the court which heard his paternity action, and the judge may either grant visitation rights or transfer the case to circuit or family court for a hearing. Your friend will, in all likelihood, be entitled to regular visitation, but he may have to go through a reacquaintance period with the child.

Good luck.
