Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

Am I responsible for my wife's student loans?

I've been married two years and currently facing divorce. My wife attended law school during the two years of our marriage, but she never finished. I didn't co-sign on her loan, and I didn't benefit financially from her loan. Will I be responsible to pay 50% of the loan?

Re: Am I responsible for my wife's student loans?

Generally speaking you are not responsible for a spouse's student loans even if they are incurred during the marriage. Usually this is because the loan was used to generate a certain income level which would be reflected therein so i am not sure if the fact she did not complete law school would make any difference. Feel free to contact me to discuss further.
