Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Kentucky

A Friend "GIVE" Me Money Now Wants It Back? In Feb 2010 I Was In A Tight Spot And A So Called Friend Insisted On Helping Me By "Giving" Me 200.00 I Told Him I Could Not Take It Because I Knew I Could Not Pay Him Back Anytime Soon, He Stated It Was not a loan and not to worry about it. Well,Yesterday he text me saying that if i dont give him the money then he is contacting his attorney next week. Should I get an attorney or ignore it?

If the money really was a gift, then your friend has no right to demand it back. He can't retroactively turn the gift into a loan. Since the amount is only $200 and since he doesn't seem to be accusing you of fraud, I don't think it will make much sense for either of you to contact a lawyer. But if your friend accuses you of something more serious than what you have described, you might need one after all.
