Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Kentucky

Grandfather died in 1963 at the time had 6 living children. He lift no will and estate did go thru probate. His family continued to pay property tax on his land. As of 2014 his last child died. He has approx. 12 grand children. Estate consist of maybe several hundred acres of land in 2 counties in Kentucky. As heirs what are our individual rights as heirs. How do we go about claiming our share to sell.

It sounds like the property went to his 6 living children in equal shares. If you are a child of one if the grandfather's children then you would want to be involved with the probate of your parent's estate to determine what should happen with your parent's share. If it was your parent who died in 2014 then you will need to probate your parent's estate. If an executor has already been appointed then you may want to file a motion requiring notice of any actions taken by the executor or administrator. You will need an attorney to assist you with this and I recommend you retain one if your parent's estate has not yet been probated.
