Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Louisiana

We are in the process of buying a home and found out we have a judgement. We was told that the officer that served the judgement papers marked that he personally served us but there is not a signature stating that we accepted these papers. Can you tell me if we was suppose to sign something or could these just be handed to us. Also to out knowledge we never received papers requesting us to go to court before the judgement was set but there is paper at court house and those aren't signed either.

You don't have to sign for papers to be served with them. You do have to be served with them, but the court doesn't have to get any signature.
