Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

domestic law suit

if i took my ex-husband back to court, the hearing officer date and court date was set, he filed for a continuance b/c of his job. Does he have to pay and file for new date and does he have a time frame? How many continuances does the courts allow because of his job?

It is up to the individual hearing officer or judge. Most will allow one continuance. Frequently a continuance is only allowed with some interim order for support being made, but, agains, that is up to the court.
