How long after a lawsuit is filed do you have until it has to be served?

Legal Answer
In Louisiana, you are supposed to request service of the petition within 90 days of filing. If you go over 90 days, you are subject to having the suit dismissed, unless you can show good cause for your failure to timely serve the defendant.
