Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana

I left an employer on positive terms and began working for the competition, the former boss/owner has been contacting my current employer as well as others in the same business and attempting to " black ball " me from the industry, know I have witnessed this behavior against other employees who have left that company and a more recent issue that my new boss has explained is a concern is my former boss had stated that I am a liability due to an injury in May from a non work related accident in which I have been cleared from for quite sometime. I did contact this former employer and advise that I have heard the rumors, denial of course yet the next day I was told that this employer had called around again and said I am scared of him and am trying to kiss his ass. What are my options civilly as this issue is putting my job in jeopardy.

That could be interference of contract and possibly defamation. You should talk to an attorney in your area and consult one-on-one. Those types of cases are so fact intensive that you really need to sit down with someone to get a good evaluation of your case.
