Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana

I work from 6 am to 6 pm if were slow we get 12 hrs but if something comes in after 6 pm our bosses said we can't charge for the hrs we work because we didn't do anything for the 12 hrs earlier is there a law against this

Yes. You have to be paid for all hours worked, either pursuant to the FLSA or Louisiana state law. The only caveat would be if you are exempt, but if you are paid hourly, then you are not exempt.
