Landlord Evict w/ No Violation Five months into a16 month Lease?
I am leasing a cottage on the river at the back of an 18 acre estate. I have a 16 month lease, which I have not violated in any way. The owners live in a large house at the front of the property for about 4 days of the week. We share a driveway. I water the property and hire the yard maintenance people to do the work when they are not here.
The owner has become upset that cars drive past her house to get to mine. In the past 5 months, this would amount to 8 to 10 cars, total. I guess she didn't realize that cars would have to pass her house to get to mine, and now regrets leasing the cottage. Yesterday she flipped out when I had a friend wait at the gate so I could drive up to get her, so as not to drive by her house. She told me that my 12 year old son and I would have to find another place to live. She has the property on the market. She bought
it in January of this year and hates it. The owners before her enjoyed having me here. Can she terminate the lease if I have not violated it in any way?

You lease is your contract. If you have not violated the contract, she cannot evict you. However, be advised that if she sells the property and your lease is not recorded in the public records so that the purchaser is aware there is a signed lease to the cottage, then the new owner may be able to make you leave.
