Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

Louisiana resident inherited paid-up timeshares--one in Fla. and one in Tenn. She does not want to keep them and doesn't care about selling. Is there any problem with just abandoning them by not paying the fees and taxes due? Deceased was Louisiana resident and all other property was in Louisiana.

I have advised clients to do this in the past. There is usually no market for timeshares, so it is very difficult to re-sell them.

Just leave them in the decedent's name. Eventually the timeshares will be forfeited back to the timeshare management.
