Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

My mother had a will drawn up with a Notary leaving me as the sole beneficiary to her home at her death. She has now passed. How do I proceed to claim ownership of her home which is also my home.

You will need to have the will probated in court and have the court recognize you as the new orner of your mother's interest in the house.

It is a pretty quick and painless process.

You must open your mother's succession, have her will probated, and petition the court to put you in possession of your mother's interest in the home. If this is all there is to transfer, and your mother had no debts, this is a quick and inexpensive process,
