Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

How can I revoke a power of attorney? Is it possible without hiring an attorney? Does a divorce revoke it?

A power of attorney can be revoked, but that has to be done in writing. Just a statement like "I hereby revoke the power of attorney granted to Mary Smith on March 3, 2014" would work.

If anyone (like a bank) has been relying on the POA, make sure they know that it has been revoked. You don't need an attorney to do this.

A divorce does not revoke a POA.
