Legal Question in Workers Comp in Maryland

I has a forklift accident at work that only involved myself. The accident occurred on a Friday. Nothing was said or done. On Mon., after several hours at work, I was told I was being written up and drug tested. I work in Maryland. I thought that you had to be drug tested within 24 hrs of an accident? I'm not concerned about the results but I feel as though I am being targeted for several other reasons. Why would a company wait to drug test over 72 hrs after an accident? Also, what if I had been drinking? The alcohol would not be in my system on Monday. This is making no sense to me and I would like to know if this is legal? I was specifically told I was being tested because of the accident - not because of "random" testing which my company does. Please advise.
