Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

Hello. I need to know where I may stand in this case because my career is on the line. I was charged for trespassing considered a criminal case in MD. I entered the property of a home being built in my car with another person who was riding with me. We were arguing about the destination and I became frustrated because either was not sure where I was going. I pulled in the driveway while we were still arguing and then we calmed down kissed and made up. A cop pulled up behind us and stated that a neighbor called and said we were trying to go into the home but we never got out of the car. We did become intimate. The cop gave us a citation for trespassing after calling the owner asking if they wanted to press charges. The owner did not want to pursue. What may the outcome be if the owner does not wish to prursue? Can it be dismissed or may I still get convicted because the officer is listed as a witness to the case. There is a complainant listed which I am assuming are the neighbors who called. [email protected]

The prosecution would need the property owner, in order to prove its case. Regardless, you might have defenses and mitigation. Consider a confidential consultation with an experienced criminal defense attorney, who can help you evaluate your situation. Beware that on line posts are not confidential.
