Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Maryland

I reside in Maryland and my coworker used racial slurs in the work place. My superiors have all but ignored the situation and the coworker involved has not received any discipline. What is my next step legally?

How large is your employer?

Are there documented instances where you complained about the racial slurs?

You can start with the EEOC's website. www.EEOC.gov.

Thereafter, if you believe your employer is covered by Title VII and you suffered workplace racial discrimination/harrassment, contact the EEOC office in Baltimore to file a charge.

You may want to consult with an attorney before filing a charge to ensure you provide sufficient information to the agency for the investigators to move forward with your claim.

You must file a charge with the EEOC before filing a discrimination claim against your employer.
