Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

my husband moved out our marital home in October 2012 (with no notice), he has been paying the mortgage and utilities for the 6 years that we resided in the home. I found out today that he has not paid mortgage or utlities for Jan & he stated that he had no plans to pay any further bills at the home I share with our 5 year old. Can he just stop paying things with no notice?

Yes, unless you take him to court. He is obviously risking the loss of the home for you and your child. You need to file a petition for a limited divorce, also requesting legal custody and child support. If you are in need of spousal support, you can seek that as well. Consult an experienced family attorney for assistance. If you financially qualify you may be entitled to an attorney at a reduced fee or even pro bono (free). Contact your county bar association for further information.
