My parents filed a peace order against me and I'm wondering if I have to appear in court for the hearing? In the state of maryland btw

You are not required to appear, but your failure to do so almost guarantees that the judge will grant your parents' request and issue an order, even though the statute requires clear and convincing evidence presented by them to warrant issuance. It could require you to completely avoid contact with them, or contain fewer restrictions.
