Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

My spouse and I are contemplating divorce and it has come to my attention that someone else has been added to the checking account. Could you provide reasons this may have been done?

Ask your bank for an explanation, especially why this was done without your permission. The account is probably set up as a one signature account, so the bank will probably tell you that they only need the authorization of one of the account holders to do this. You need to discuss this with your spouse, especially since this third person could withdraw from the account. I would also advise you not to put any more money into the account until the issue is resolved.
