Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Stepparent rights in maryland

I am the primary parent of my 15 yr old son, and have always been the only parnet involved in my sons education. I found out from my son's teacher that his stepmother has been emailing her (apparently getting aggresive) about my son's schooling. My question is Since both his father and I are both alive and well does she have any legal right to involve herself with my son's schooling and records?

No. Is the school responding to any of the emails? Either you or the father, or both if you have joint legal custody, should be the ones in communication with the school. It may be that the father, if he has joint legal, has told the school that his wife is authorized to communicate with the school--you should challenge them on this. Of course, as a practical matter, if she is doing this with the father's knowledge and consent, she'll just end up communicating through the father anyway.
