Legal Question in Medical Leave in Maryland

We are in the state of Maryland.My wife is due to have our baby in Nov. She just got diagnosed with diabetes and the doctor is saying she should not work now but her boss is threatening her with termination if she does. If she is terminated because of this, do we have any legal recourse?
