Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland

expired contract, continuos employment

I am employed in a Maryland since 2001. I had a contract for two year and never signed a new one. My contract included intellectual property section in which I am to get certain percentage of inventions income. Is the employer or I for this mater, still obliged to the contract.

What kicks in is what we call "course of dealing." In plain English, it would mean though you have nothing in writing now, the way you dealt with each other in the past would control your present relationship. However, there are numerous escapes to that - depending on the language in the old contract. We practice in MD, D.C., GA & TX so if you need to contact us feel free to do so.
