Legal Question in Personal Injury in Maryland

i was shot while shopping in a maryland liquor store

Is the business in any way responsible for my care. Someone had come into the establishment to rob the store, i was only a shopper, and got shot.

I've incurred some medical bills, but have healed and am pretty much back to normal now.

Can i get my bills paid? Lost Wages? Pain & Suffering? What is responsibility does the establishment have to my safety?

The store isn't responsible unless it was somehow negligent. For example, if this was a high crime area and there had been a number of previous robberies, and the store had installed a buzzer system so it could control who entered the store, and if the system was broken so that anyone could enter and they had a reasonable time to fix it and failed to do so, you might have a case. But the store isn't required to guarantee your safety as a customer in the store. You might inquire if they have insurance to automatically cover medical expenses of any customers injured in the store without regard to fault, but that would probably be the extent of your recovery.
