Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

Moved into a property we got through third party advertising. A month later we started getting letters and knocks at the door saying, the house has been sold its owned by the bank. The bank now has attorneys contacting us saying we have to vacate by November. We just moved here 06/01/15 and our lease is for one year. We can't reach the landlord, he won't return our call. What can we do? We want to stay until our lease is up.

Given the time frame you set out, it sounds like the property was already in foreclosure when you moved in, which means the bank was actually in control of the property. The defaulting owner defrauded you by leasing property to you that he probably had no legal ability to control. I suggest you consult with a real estate or L&T attorney who can examine your lease and the land records for the property to determine the time line, and whether your lease remains valid despite the foreclosure.
