Legal Question in Tax Law in Maryland

Husband did not pay the taxes

Filed joint tax returns , trusting estranged husband was paying. He was not. Irs now is coming after me, kept my refund. Should I call the irs or not? I was not a wage earner at the time. Currently we are seperated.

Innocent spouse rules

Check with your accountant about the "innocent spouse" rules/law. You may qualify for that. And it seems like you should be able to sue the son-of-a-gun for any money you are out because of his non-payment of taxes. Check with a lawyer in your state (or the son-of-a-gun's state) about this.
