Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland

I was stopped by an officer for speeding. According to the policeman I was doing 66 in a 45 zone. I was with my 15 yr old daughter and 12 yr old son. I explained to the officer that my daughter was having an issue so it prompt me to hurry and get her home to manage her situation. I received a citation for $160 and I believe be said 2 points. My driving record is in great standing. Its been clean with no incidents to my knowledge in 10yrs. My thoughts are to file for a wavier. Pled guilty with an excuse. I was also driving a rental car. So with this info my question is would I have a good chance to have the fine reduced or wavied.
