Legal Question in Business Law in Massachusetts

I was hired with false information from the sales manager. The number of company leads was greatly exaggerated and the travel reimbursement for mileage was untrue. The promised reimbursement was $.57 per mile and I am being paid $.20. I am in Massachusetts and am afraid if I just quit I will not be able to collect while finding another job. The hiring manager has since gone out on permanent disability

First, there should be a policy statement on mileage reimbursement. You should get a copy. If the policy says $.57 per mile then ask why you have not been reimbursed the correct amount.

Second, if the company promised you X leads per week or month and is not complying, then complain to the HR dept.

One of three things are going to happen

1. your mileage reimbursement will be corrected and you will get more leads.

2. Nothing will change

3. They will fire you.

If you have a letter offer that indicates what you get or handbook that discusses this, you may be able to quit and claim constructive discharge.

Good Luck
