Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I am 60 years old. Married for 39 years. My husband will be 62 this April and planning to retire. I'm a housewife and work par time in a salon as a hairdresser. Our marriage is heading for divorce. When he retires will I be eligible for half of his social security retirement income or do I have to wait till I'm of retirement age?

Thank you

You have to wait until you are 62 to collect benefits under his earnings. You would be eligible to collect up to 50% of his benefits so long as you do not remarry.
