Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I understand that the MA laws for spousal alimony support are changing. My ex-spouse is not yet fully retired. We were married for 36 years and now divorced for 10 years. He pays me alimony on a weekly basis as per court order (divorce decree). Will his amount of alimony to me change or disappear with this new law?

No, the law does not automatically change any current alimony obligations. However, depending on each parties circumstances and the specific facts of your case, either you or your ex-husband could file a complaint for modification to change the alimony terms.
