Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

Hello, I let a "friend" use a credit card of mine to help pay some veterinary bills. Since then, it has been a struggle to get her to pay. She's only paid once, and she keeps crying poor on facebook. What can I do to get her to pay the card?

It sounds like you have a difficult situation to deal with. I would advise that you ensure that the credit card is paid, and keep track of what you pay and what was incurred by your "friend". That will help protect you from possible legal action or negative effects on your credit. As far as your "friend" - you may need to take her small claims court (if it is under $7000.00 that she owes you). The problem is, unless you have some documentation proving that she used it, and agreed to pay you back, it might difficult to demonstrate that she is legally obligated to pay you back. If you have something indicating that she made a payment - that might help.
