Legal Question in Immigration Law in Massachusetts

My husband is considering apply for TN work Visa and employed by a US employer. He has a mobile application and been earning income from google ads advisement. While he am working with his US employer in the US, is it legal to continues maintaining the mobile application (such as codes updating) and earn income from google ads advisement?
If it is illegal to work on it, can he just let it continue generating advisement money without maintaining it?
Also, is there any other work visa allow him to work for the us employer, and also keep his own self-employed business in Canada?
