Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts

Dog Bite?

A mail carrier was frightened by my dogs. He tried to leave and enclosed porch and cut his arm on our screen door. He has now approached an attorney and is stating that my dogs attacked him. The dogs never came in ANY contact with him. They were never in the porch with him. He claims they attacked him and he has suffered permenant scaring from it. I have had to contact my insurance company. What can I do to prevent this from being stated that my dogs caused the harm to him and possibly loosing my dogs? We have a witness to the whole situation and our dogs actually ran in the other direction when he ''freaked'' out. We also have a verbal statement from his supervisor that it did not look like a dog bite, but a cut after we contacted him both by phone and in person.

Re: Dog Bite?

This issue is largely with your insurer. I suggest that you get in touch with the insurer, and make sure that statements are taken from the witnesses.

Re: Dog Bite?

Your insurer will handle case. There is nothing you can do to prevent allegation in complaint.
