Without knowing the specifics of who you have hired and what is involved, I cannot comment specifically on the hourly rate in your case. It is not uncommon for commercial real estate attorneys to charge $350 hour or more for doing various kinds of real estate work. Frequently, attorneys charge flat fees. Hourly rates depending upon location, complications of transaction and other factors can run from as low as $275 hour for some solo attorneys or very small firms to more than $450 hr. for partners in large firms. If this is a distribution out a Trust or Probate estate, the hourly rate is usually $350 or more an hour. Some residential attorneys charge flat fees but starting with the new federal Consumer Protection law, the flat fees are going to go up or become hourly as the amount of work and liability to attorneys is going to rise.
