Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

Sidewalk removed by town

Hello.

The town I live in removed a sidewalk that abuts my front lawn and replaced it with dirt, grass seed and a sidewalk granite barrier. However, due to the poor quality of the dirt and seed and the continued use of this area by pedestrians, nothing has grown but weeds and bare patches remain. It is an eyesore.

I would like to find a way to get the town to reinstall a proper sidewalk. Do I have any grounds to pursue this? Thanks.

Re: Sidewalk removed by town

You should check with the town administrator and find out the basis of this change, and see under what terms it was approved, and who is responsible for its maintenance.
