Legal Question in Traffic Law in Massachusetts

MA Uniform Citation

We live in PA and were at the Ponono's PA on Feb 22,08. A Amherst police officer call us and stated that our car was involved in a accident on this date in Amherst MA. Our tag number was giving in a leaving the scene. We denied the charges. We received a citation for this accident on 3/13. I called the Chief of police and a Lt called back and was going to investigate the matter. We receieved 3 phone calls in the early AM on 3/14 from the officer that took the report. 2 were hang ups at 5:04am we answered and again denied that it was our auto or tag. Stating that we were over 300miles from MA on that date. The officer stated go to court. We can't afford to travel to MA for a court case on false accusations. A claim has been entered to our auto insurance. They are investigation. I have proof in bank statment, store receipts and hotel receipt to prove we were in PA at that time and date. The criminal citation has no court date or amount due. Online police log shows that the doer was a young male we are over twice that age. And the log shows it was a Frat house at 1:30am. What will happen next? This is a crime we didnt commit and are being blamed for a cop that wont do his job and has to call at 1am-5am to harass via phone!
