Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

My soon to be ex husband stopped making the mortgage payments when I told him I was filing for divorce. The mortgage company has begun the foreclosure process. I want to stay in the house and possibly buy it, but he is not cooperating with this at all. The mortgage company will not speak to me or my divorce lawyer regarding the matter because I am not on the mortgae or title. What are my options here? Also the mortgage is way more then the current value.

Your attorney should have had a status quo order entered requiring your husband to maintain all marital assets. Your attorney now needs to file an emergency motion to compel him to make the mortgage payments and bring the mortgage current. For more info., please contact my office at (248)851-3171.
