I am a co signer on a loan and the main applicant filed chapter 7 bankruptcy. How does this effect me

The primary effect will be that the creditor may be entitled to look to you for payment. If the debtor who filed the 7 receives a discharge, think of it as though that debtor's name were crossed out on the loan documents, leaving only you.
