bills after death

if someones parents die and leave unpaid bills with no assets are the grown children held legally responsible to pay them?i am disabled the other children all work

Not if there were no assets. Why would you be responsible for someone else's bills? Doesn't make sense. Just send a letter to the creditors with a copy of the death certificate if they keep bothering you and they will go away.
