Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

ok I co-signed for a ex-girl friend so she could keep her trailor that she owned in a village lot rent? now she abandoned it . And the are coming after me for her lot rent? Amount 1500 and I received a summons to court at my place of work today. I feel she should be responsible for this. I never lived there ever. I trusted her ,we broke up then she did this after we broke up. It says I have 21 days to in written letter to court or they'll default my name they are sewing me? What can I do ? Help! will this cost me and how much? thank you

You co-signed, which means you are liable for the rent if she failed to pay. She should be responsible for it. However, you co-signed, so you are just as responsible.

Now, you will have to sue her or add her to this matter. Don't let this matter proceed to default.
