nursing home and credit card debt

my mom is 90 and is admitted to a nursing home. Medicaid takes all but 60.00 a month. One credit card debt of 6,000.00. No assets...can credit card debt be collected ??.. How ??

Probably not from your mom if she has no assets. I can't help but wonder how a 90-year-old acquired a $6,000 credit card balance. If you or someone in your family used the card without authorization, that person may be liable for the balance.
