Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

I am owed a considerable amount of money for services performed for a real estate company.

I have emailed them several times with responses but... no money.

I considered the owner a friend and employer but this has gone on to long (one year)

He has told me several times in person he knows he owes me and promises to pay while he buys new cars and takes mexico vacations.

What can i do to collect??
