Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

I am going to be served a summons tomorrow from a cc company. I have not received anything in the mail stating they wanted to settle before this. What is my best course of action once the summons is received?

Your best course of action is to hire an attorney to represent you. I see unrepresented defendants in court all of the time being walked over by the plaintiff's attorney. Your attorney will answer the complaint, request discovery to validate the debt, and negotiate a settlement if appropriate.

Once you receive the summons and complaint, you will need to file an answer with the court and serve a copy on the other side. However, hiring an attorney who is familiar with the debt defense and collection process is always in your best interest. http://www.wolverinelaw.com .

You can also simply hire an attorney to negotiate for you, before ongoing litigation becomes necessary.
