Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

15 yr. old with MIP in MI

I am 15 and I was just caught at a party for drinking at a party. I blew a .044 on a breathalyzer and I had a bottle in my hand when the police walked up. I heard that there is a thing I am able to do where I pay $150 fine, do community service, and am on probatition for 6 months and the MIP is cleared off of my record. Is this true/possible? If so, how would I go about receiving this instead of a charge? Also, does this effect me getting my license at 16? Thank you.

At your pre-trial your parent or guardian can ask the prosecutor for a deferral under MCL 436.1703 (3). But..,if you get another MIP during probation you'll lose the deferral.

Also, does this effect me getting my license at 16? No, but your second offense will.
