Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

facing embezzlement charges of $6500 in Michigan. Employer was/is a financial institution. I believe I can borrow the funds to pay back 100%. Should I do this right away? before consulting an attorney (might have to use a public defender). Any chance of this not going to court if I pay back immediately? Any chance that there would not be jail time? This is first offence of any kind. How much would a regular attorney cost me?

Yes, the possibility to avoid charges is there. I have successfully handled these but font try it alone. You will certainly be at their whim and still get charged if not handled right.

If charges happen, avoiding jail is huge and an attorney is a must.
