Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

A friend of mine is being charged with resisting and obstruction of a police officer. This is her first charge. She's never been in trouble with the law other than traffic tickets. Here is what happened. Her and her fianc were pulling in their driveway after going out with friends on a Saturday night. Her fianc was driving while she was in the passenger seat. A cop pulled up behind them in their driveway and had her fianc take a sobriety test-which he failed. The officer asked him to take a breathalyzer ( he also had never been in trouble with the law) He asked if he could refuse it and the officer said yes. So he refused and got arrested. My friend then started freaking out (having a panic attack) because her fianc was going to jail. She said to the police officer, "you're not taking him anywhere without me." She was standing behind the police car while saying this. Mind you, the girl is five feet tall and 120 lbs. she screamed, "arrest me then!" So they did. They did not read her, her rights and she ended up in jail basically for having an attitude and talking back. She was originally charged with a felony and they dropped it down to a misdemeanor. She would like to know if she needs a lawyer or what she should do?

Yes she needs a lawyer. See cbrownlegal.com for more information. I would be happy to speak with her. As a former police officer, and attorney, I've handled many of these cases.
