Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

I have a nephew who was on probation, and on court supervised psychiatric care, with bi monthly court appearences. He had a serious mental break down, was arrested in another juridiction, for a domestic violence charge. While in custody it was determine he was not competant to participate in his own defence. He has been in the custody of the a State Psychiatriate hospital for amost a year now. But still has a warrent out for his failure to appear for probation hear and possible violation of probation. The probation officer was inform right away that he was in custody and in state ordered care for a complete break dowm, but insist that he will need to appear in the Redford court if he is finally released and well. The fascility has closed circuit broadcasting for court purposes, can this problem be resolved while he is still in custody. He has been in custody much longer than his intial probation and the other incident was dropped.
